HELP & INFORMATION

FAQs

Are your records new or pre-owned?

Prime Press Records primarily specialises in pre-owned vinyl. Every listing describes the individual copy being offered for sale, including its condition and the pressing details we have identified.

How do you grade records?

Vinyl and sleeves are graded separately where appropriate, using a system based on the widely used Goldmine grading scale. We aim to grade conservatively and describe notable faults clearly. See our Record Grading page for full details.

Do you identify exact pressings?

Where possible, yes. Listings can include details such as catalogue numbers, matrices, labels, sleeve variations, country and other identifiers that help collectors understand exactly which copy is being offered.

Are the photographs of the actual record?

Yes. The photographs shown in our pre-owned record listings are of the actual copy being offered for sale, so you can assess the sleeve, labels and vinyl before purchasing.

Do you play-test every record?

Not every record is play-tested in full. Where a record has been play-tested, this will be stated in the individual listing. Records are otherwise carefully inspected and graded, with notable condition issues described wherever identified.

How are records packaged?

Records are carefully protected for transit using suitable purpose-made record packaging. We take care to protect both the vinyl and sleeve so your order reaches you safely.

How much is UK delivery?

UK delivery is £4.49 per order using Royal Mail Tracked 48. Tracking details are provided after dispatch.

Do you ship outside the UK?

International shipping isn't currently available through the standard website checkout. If you're outside the UK and interested in a record, contact us and we'll see what we can arrange.

How can I pay?

Website orders are paid securely through Stripe Checkout. Available payment options are shown at checkout and may include card and supported express-payment methods.

Can I sell records to you?

Yes. Whether you have a few records or a larger collection, visit Sell Your Records to see what to send us and how the process works.
